About Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing:

BSc Nursing (Post Basic) is a two-year duration undergraduate course in nursing. Nurses are healthcare professionals who often work in hospitals or outpatient facilities to provide hands-on care to patients by monitoring their medical condition, administering medications, maintaining records and communicating with doctors.

Nursing is an art and science dedicated to educating individuals in protecting people from diseases, improving the physical and psychological well-being of patients by delivering the health care instructed by the doctor and planning, applying and checking the patient care. In harmony with the university’s mission, our faculty is committed to excellence in teaching, research, clinical practice, and professional service. The resources available to you both on campus and at affiliated health care agencies support clinical practice, research, intellectual inquiry, and creative learning. The Department of Nursing partners with many excellent healthcare institutions and clinical sites to provide students with resources to practice the theoretical concepts learned in the classroom and simulation laboratory.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates should clear Class 12th from a recognised board preferably in Science stream
• Candidates should be registered as Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM)
• Candidates should possess a three-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
• Candidates should have minimum two years of experience in the profession
(after registration as RNRM)
• Male candidates who have not done midwifery in GNM should possess a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery

The Scope of Post Basic BSC Nursing

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing program allows candidates to further pursue higher studies or opt for a job once it is completed. A person can work in the following profiles after graduating from this course-
